The ‘Active Classroom’ is a series of ergonomic children’s furniture designed for the school of the future. The deep habituation in chair sitting served as a motivation to finding healthy alternatives for sitting, starting with the youth. The ‘Active Classroom’ takes a unique perspective arguing that sitting is activity. It focuses on the ‘change of postures’ as the essential ingredient of sitting – the stools aim to encourage a frequent alternation of different sitting postures to increase the muscular activity and diversity.
